What we collect
- Account data — your email address and display name, or the identifier returned by Google or Apple when you use social sign-in. Guest sessions have no personal identifiers until you add an email.
- Catch data — species, weight, length, gear, notes, dates and any photos you upload.
- Location — coordinates attached to a catch or waypoint, and your approximate position when you ask for nearby waters, weather or a map view. Location is only read while you use those features.
- Purchase data — subscription status and plan received from Stripe, Apple or Google. We never see or store your card number.
- Diagnostics — basic error reports used to keep the app working.
How we use it
Your data is used to store and display your fishing log, generate weather, solunar and AI bite recommendations for your conditions, show hotspots near you, and manage your subscription. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising or tracking across other apps and websites.
Who we share it with
We share only what is required to deliver a feature: coordinates are sent to weather providers (Open-Meteo, MET Norway, US NWS) and to Google Maps Platform for maps, places and geocoding; catch details you request insight on are sent to our AI provider; billing details are handled by Stripe, Apple or Google. Data is stored on our managed backend infrastructure.
Your choices
You can export every catch as CSV, GPX or KML from your profile at any time. You can delete individual catches and photos, or delete your entire account and all associated data from Profile → Delete account. Deletion is permanent and removes your catches, photos and waypoints. Location and camera permissions can be revoked in your device settings.
Children
FishArchive is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
